History
The Spessart Highlanders at the Laurenzi-beerfest at Marktheidenfeld
(Some bad boys say, we even made the horses of the brewery-carriage dizzy)
In autumn 2001, Achim Fuchs and the leader of the local private music-school "Jam-House" at Marktheidenfeld, Christian Schwab tried to find some people, who would be interested in Scottish bagpiping.
Fortunately, there were more people than expected.
Two weeks later Achim had a group of 16 people, who wanted to learn the bagpipes.
Some of them left, but eight novices stayed.
Another beginner joined us some times later.
The drum-corps is growing, too.
You may say, Achim loosened an avalanche, which grows and grows, and he has to take care to avoid being rolled over.
But with stoic peace: "What did I start here" or "start with one jester, and finish with a dozen" he bears everything that happens, and is normally always found on top of the scene.
Of cause he has not finished yet: There has been a second group of novices since 2004, and a third one started at Aschaffenburg in 2006.
If you want to play the bagpipes or the drums, or are a piper or drummer searching for a band, feel free to join us. If you want to learn an instrument, just ask.
You are always welcome.
