Laurenzi-beerfest at Marktheidenfeld
The Spessart Highlanders at the Laurenzi-beerfest at Marktheidenfeld
(Some bad boys say, we even made the horses of the brewery-carriage dizzy)

In autumn 2001, Uwe Diehm and some of his friends contacted Christian Schwab, the leader of the music-school Jam House in Marktheidenfeld, and asked him for a possibility to learn the Great Highland Bagpipes. Christian reacted surprised, but interested, and started to search for a tutor. He knew about a piper in Aschaffenburg. After some days of searching, Achim Fuchs was found, and agreed to teach a group. An article at the local newspaper brought 16 people, who wanted to learn this instrument.
In 2004 a second beginners-group was started at Marktheidenfeld, and since 2006 there has been tuition in Aschaffenburg with a third group. In 2009 we were lucky to meet Yvonne Büttner, a drum teacher (Diploma), who has build up a drum corps, which is still growing.
If you want to learn the pipes or the drums, just contact us, if you are a piper or drummer, looking for a new band, you are welcome, too.
